NRG Tour DVD Notes

SO I just finished watching the DVD and I just wanted to write down some notes about the DVD versus the live show for everyone who is interested.

So I was at the Suidobashi YUKI and the first night at the Budokan for this tour, the DVD was the second night and the final show. It was interesting to note that throughout the first costume set, you can notice footage from both nights, obvious editing due to the fact that YUKI was wearing two different but similar costumes. One has a blacklight green dress and the other one has a metallic kind of spacey front. The audio and all the recording was done for the most part on the last night, I didn't see many (or, as I remember, any) cameras on the night I was there, so it is interesting to note. Up until Biscuit you can tell from the editing but after that the costumes remain the same so its impossible to tell (unless you can locate my huge frame in the forth row, haha. I was able to find my outline in a couple different places...I think, haha. I'm quite tall, about 6'4", and I was fourth row exactly center).

anyways, the real point I wanted to get to was that this DVD severely edited out the MC. I'm not sure if she just didn't talk on the final night as much or if they didn't have time for the entire concert because it was too long, but they cut several parts short. The first major missing piece was when YUKI explained the tour meaning, about how she was looking into the power of triangles, how when you place something in the middle of a triangle, it has mysterious properties and effects on items. That is why the logo was bent spoons in a triangle and she asked everyone to make triangles with their hands to help her bend spoons.

the other major part was a lot of scattered banter between her and the crowd, so would talk a lot with the crowd and people would answer back. She asked who had been to suidobashi YUKI and who was experiencing their first YUKI live, and she also did that short little cute Japanese dance/song that she has done at all her lives more or less recently. If I'm not mistaken it was on her last DVD too. She also took the matroshka theremin and introduced it, played with it a bit, threw the signal into different parts of the audience and talked about how it was a gift and if enough people liked it they might make a limited edition for the fanclub, but it would be very expensive (probably just a joke, although several people screamed out how they wanted it).

The DVD was really good but I was said to see her interaction with her fans cut at the cost of having a full set list. Oh well, can't have everything. Great that we got that documentary!

My DVD is sitting back at home, while I am here at university... Grrr... I want it. And she better be performing still in 3 or 4 years. I will be so pissed off if she retires! lol! Thanks for sharing your notes! :) Super jealous that you got to go!

Aaaw, now that you've told us, I would've liked watching the talking part a lot as well X( But I guess the music is more important! :)
